The Inner, Outer, and Central Richmond neighborhoods are bisected by
the east-west Geary business corridor, where the area?s diverse
population abounds. Russian bakeries, Middle Eastern delis, Irish bars
and French restaurants are filled with families, young urban
professionals and students from the nearby University of San Francisco
on Lone Mountain. As the Asian population has grown and Clement Street
exploded with dim sum houses and Chinese restaurants, the district has
been nicknamed "Chinatown West".
